Hi K, I have a tough question here but was wondering what you think.
I talked to someone yesterday and she said that if I only have TE that I shouldn't be on aldactone because it can prevent regrowth! She knows a girl that was on it a year with no shedding and then had regrowth once she stopped aldatone. Two doctors had told her aldactone can prevent regrowth; she didn't believe it though until the second one told her this.
My thing is I am worried about my hormone levels, but I am confused about them because my Free Testosterone was normal. Normally if my total testosterone was high normal one would expect my Free Testosterone to be even higher (my endo mentioned that).
Anyways this all has me wondering if my hormones are actually normal (facial hair runs in the family, no hormone probs-mother, aunt, grandmother) and they tested slightly higher because I was only two months off of the pill. You talked to one of your doctors about this didn't you? What did he say? Did he say how long you should be off the pill before getting your homones tested?
Do you think 5 months is long enough to be off the pill and test hormones? I have another appointment in July to get my hormones tested; then would be 5 months off. I am tempted to stop aldactone and not start bcps to see where my hormone levels are normally. I don't want to be on aldactone if it can prevent regrowth. Hope everything is going well for you! -S

has anyone been put on yasmin to shrink fibroids?i am on my first week of takeing yasmin and seems to me that estrogen is supose to make the fibroids grow???
