Hi K, Thanks for the quick response. I remember reading that Tagament can help AGA but also cause hair to fall out too. I will have to look at the PDR for Spiro again. I emailed the girl who took it so hopefully I get an email soon, but that might not be until Tuesday. I guess I don't want to stop aldactone until she replies because I don't want to upset my hormones again! Aldactone would only help shedding if it was due to hormones (at least that it what I would think). I don't think it would help TE. The hairs that are falling out now were shocked into telogen in February. But obviously I don't understand aldactone because I don't know why it would adversly affect regrowth. I am still getting lots of regrowth from my initial shed in Nov-Dec.
I am still confused as to why my Free Testosterone was normal, but my DHEA-S was slightly elevated. I am really wondering if that is because I had my hormones tested 2 months after being on the pill. My endo didn't know why that would be, but he did think my hormones could still be messed up after only two months off of the pill. He also decided that my facial hair was familial (genetic). He didn't say they were due to my hormone levels. Have you tried to talk to your doctors on the phone before to ask a question? Have they been OK with that?
Aldactone isn't expensive at all. For 30 100mg pills it is only $17. It sounds like you only have peach fuzz right now. Maybe you could try vaniqa if your doc doesn't agree to spiro or bcps right away. I would worry about that excess peach fuzz though because dark coarse hairs develop over time and were once peach fuzz like, but that is my opinion so use it wisely! I don't know about the sucess rate of spiro with AGA, but my endo said he thought it helped at least 80% of people's unwanted hair.
Gosh, I really don't know what to say about the Zoloft. Anti-depressants list hair loss as a rare side effect, but don't give any hair numbers in the PDR. If the Zoloft is helping you emotionally, that is good for your hair. But if it is hurting your hair, then it isn't helping you emotionally. Big decision to make. What dose are you on? It is really low? How fast did you move up to a higher dose (that is if you did)? If you are on a low dose or moved up to a higher dose really slowly, you are less likely to experience side effects. I have a doctor and psychiatrist who believe the only reason I experienced side effects on prozac was because the doctor who prescribed it increased my dose to a VERY high dose MUCH too quickly.

Hello Sue, I read Dr John R Lee's book, "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Premenopause". He says that dropping estrogen levels are normal but not exactly. Our hormones go out of balance due to unnatural causes and bcp's only make it worse--not better!!! We can balance our hormones naturally. After reading it, I am stopping bcp; and I am taking a new healthy approach to keeping my hair, my health and will balance my hormones effectively and naturally.
