Hi K! I hope you are doing OK.
My hairloss was pretty consistant. One day I lost nearly 400 hairs in the morning and the next day I lost 150 and around that afterwards. By February it was around 80. I don't think that is typical. The loss usually tappers down. I know IndyGirl posted in January on the TE forum about having Good/Bad days. She cycled between good and bad days before she started having only good days. Her hairloss started after giving birth.
I was thinking about your antidepressant dilemia and thought of something my friend said to me. She said, "It's better to have a bird in the hand than two in the bush." 1. You know the Zoloft is helping you. 2. You don't know if it is causing more hair loss. Why stop it if you know it is doing good? You don't know that it is hurting you hair. Isn't 50 mg a pretty low dose of Zoloft? Can't remember. There are less side effects if a person is on a low dose.
I understand you fear about not seeing any regrowth. I saw much less regrowth than I wanted for a while too. I didn't notice more until end of March. I didn't notice more regrowth in my bang area until end of April. Now I have lots. I called my obgyn crying about my hair in Apirl because I wasn't seeing the regrowth I wanted. I was soooo worried. It may take up to 6 months (longer for some) to see the regrowth you want.
I was on prozac for 7 months in 1998-1999. I did notice my hair was thinner then but ignored it because I still had lots of hair and had many other things to worry about. I don't know if the prozac caused the hair loss or not because before that I had surgery and was on zoloft. I don't even know if my hair all grew back or not, but my hair isn't too much thinner now so I think some must have came back, but I had so many other situations between this time that could have triggered more TE (like surgery, bulimia, anti-depressants, poor diet/starvation at times). Very messy. I am not going to mess with my body anymore. I am going to research each drug before I take it.
