I agree that some hairloss is natural as a result of aging, but there is more to it than hairloss. Estrogen also boosts bone density, muscle strength, etc. Should we say that osteoporis is inevitable? I don't think so. I started losing my hair at 35. Now I know it is a result of low DHEA levels, but at the time I did not. I have been on the pill for 4 years, and thank goodness. Not only do I have low DHEA , but also low estrogen levels. So obviously, if a 35 mcg pill is not providing me with enough estrogen how could my own body? Since I have osteoporis in my family I am very worried that I am not providing my body with enough beneficial estrogen to ward off bone loss. As a result, I am having a bone density test at the end of this month. So, in my opinion, yes some hairloss is normal, but most people can tell when their hairloss is something different than the gradual loss due to aging. Remember, menopausal hairloss is typically gradual and over many years time. Most of the people who come to this site are not having gradual loss but profuse loss over a short period of time.
