Thank you both so much for your quick replys! I have just one follow up question - besides having my liver enzymes checked (which I do) and my annual gyn exams, are you aware of any other tests that I should have my doctors follow me for because of the Diane 35? I really was amazed yesterday after I spent $36 for Ortho-Trycyclin and found the warning statements exactly the same as for Diane. Maybe they are more similar than I first thought. This has been such a relief. Here's more info for other people looking for case histories: I too had bad acne in my late 20s and after being on everything including Accutane I finally had to get a skin peal for the scars. Then years later when I turned 32 the hair loss started. I've always had problems with facial/body hair(treated with electrolysis) and the spironolactone really helped that. Honestly, within 2 months I stopped going for electrolysis. Of course, I did not have any regrowth on spironolactone - and my hair loss was the painful variety - like electric shocks to my scalp and very thin hair - very devestating. I spent years in depression - I think back to this period as my lost years. I thought the acne scars were bad enough but those could be treated cosmetically. Now after all this time I still have a very sensitive area on the top-center portion of my head, but I can wear my hair long and feel good about going out in public, things will never be 100% again, but at least the improvement on Diane and earlier on Diane and Androcur makes life bearable. - Hope this, in addition to my post on 6/6/01, helps someone!
