My macaw had a very deep horizontal ridge in her beak, and her vet told me that when it was growing out she went thru a VERY stressful event. She had------she was sold by her previous owner. I also had them in my thumb nails when my hair loss was really bad. I had been thru terrible stress for several months. All I know is what he told me.
