Hi Tina: Once you begin your iron--you can't stop or the hair loss will continue. When your ferratin reaches 100 (Dover) then drop your dose so that it will MAINTAIN your iron stores. Iron is not permanent. Like food and water, you must have some every day--just less after you build it to a high level. Right now, I'm on 3 60 mg of elemental iron 2 x per day (two in the morning and one at night).When I get my ferratin to 100, I will drop down to one pill per day (morning)to maintain a medium--high ferratin.
