Lisa, The thing is that you have to sign a waver form before you take Accutane saying that you understand that the medicine is to treat severe nodular acne and as a last resort. I signed it even though I did not have severe nodular acne--- b/c the doctor had recommended I take the medication. Now, I had read about the possibility of hair loss on this medication (though I had never experienced hair loss, I was freaked out by it)--- I grilled the derm about this. She told me that it was extremely rare and that my hair would not fall out. I asked what would happen if it did fall out, and she replied that of course it would be temporary b/c "Accutane does not kill the follicles." She was just a general oasis of misinformation. She did know that I was depressed and even suicidal especially about the skin-picking--- I had basically been tearing myself apart for two years and was completely unable to stop--- I had practically nothing to pick at--- tho with nothing at all to pick at on the Accutane, I did finally stop. Honestly, I feel like my problems never end--- that it's just one thing after another, and I doubt that my hair will ever grow back. I am hoping there is some chance b/c the ferritin was so low for so long, and also b/c I'm so young. I do plan to sue, it is almost hitting the two year mark since I was on the drug, but my mom is a lawyer, and she says that the statue of limitations does not apply if you couldn't judge that the condition was permanent within the 2 year time period (i.e. another dermatologist diagnosed me with TE and claims the hair will grow back). I am too stressed to sue right now, and I'm praying that the hair will grow back. If not, I will be very pleased to sue the original doctor. Thanks for your support. Do you think there is any chance that my hair would regrow completely? I am going on a week-long trip tomorrow, and I just feel so depressed and ugly and not excited at all.
