For the last three days I have been off of aldactone (25 mg/1x/day), and I now know that I'm either extremely sensitive to this medication, or I'm suffering from a placebo effect.
My hair has been shedding on aldactone. On the third day OFF of aldactone, the shedding was greatly reduced, but lo and behold, my acne has returned...not in full force, but I'm crossing my fingers that it will not be bad.
Don't know what to do...should I stay on aldactone to see if my hair stops falling? Do I reduce my dosage? I think I should speak to my doctor asap.

I have been on 175 for about 3 months. I hear you about OTC, but i have heard horror stories about people switching pills so i am afraid to. Someone on the BCP forum even said that they didn't have trouble until they switched to Desogen. I frankly don't know what to do. I stay on it because i think maybe it is working in the sense that it would be worse if i wasn't taking it. Anyway, thank you for your concern. I hope someday there is a cure for this.
