AGA & inheriting loss

I would think AGA IS "inherited hair loss." I would think that is why it is androgenetic alopecia (that the gentic part of it is the inherited part). Maybe I am confused about that.

I still don't understand if one can have AGA and NOT inherit it---meaning they just have a sensitivity to androgens that no one in their family had, or if you HAVE to inherit it.
