Well to start off, i feel everyones pain. I started takin accutane in tha spring of 99(almost 2 years), i started out wit 2 a day, then after i while, to 1 a day, then finally to 1 a week. During this past winter i noticed my hair thinning, it was male pattern baldness, but it was thinning, my derm told me it wasnt from tha accutane and i believed him, so i started taking propecia. Well after i came across this board i quit taking accutane about 3 months ago. I also quit taking tha propecia. Now since i have quit taking both medications i have seen an increase in the thinning, and it is startin to look like mpb. Im 21, i have my pattern baldness in my family but it is only til tha late 30's, but im sure its from tha accutane. Is there like a period after u stop takin accutane where u shed alot of hair then grow it back? my question is do yall think somehow the accutane triggered the mpb? Another thing, i dont really see any hair falling out, no hair in tha sink or on tha pillow, but somehow it is disappearing, r my pores closing up? I also have long hair, i havent had a hair cut since january. My doctor told me to cut my hair short. Does tha length of your hair have anything to do with it falling out?I have some regrowth, but it is not all around, and not thick. I have heard stories about regrowth (Ali), so do yall think there is still hope, is it too soon to see regrowth? Should i get back on tha propecia? I have been takin this product called "Hair Advantage" but i think its too soon to see any results. There is also a hair regrowth product at this website, www.gvi.com.And if anyone knows, is there any way to find a good derm that could assist me, one that actually believes the accutane may have did this. What type of tests should i get done on me? Thank yall for takin your time in readin this. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. I wish tha best of luck to everyone
