Hi, I am glad that I have given people hope when I myself didn't have any. I started in September 2000 and ended on Feb 8th. I was on 40 mg. Monday through Thursday and on 80 mgs. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. That was the way my doctor prescribed it for me. I am 5'6" and weight about 115 lbs. I think my dose was to strong for me. Another point of interest. I have a 15 year old son and he was on accutane from September 2000 to January. He was on alternating days 40 one day 80 the next. He weighs about 145 lbs. He didn't have any of the hair side effects at all. His face looks great and only gets a pimple or two once in a while. My face has stayed really clear. Another thing to mention is that I really didn't have bad skin. I am 34 and have been breaking out since around the time I was 20. My skin was great in my teens. I was sick of having 5 or 6 pimples on my face all the time. Nothing worked and my dermo finally put me on accutane since we tried all the creams and potions. My sons face wasn't very bad at all. Actually when I look back it is much better than most kids his age. I was paranoid of him going through his teens with acne. All I can say is I am glad my hair is returning to normal and I have learned a valuable lesson with all this. We all have something we would like to change about ourselves. I have learned to be greatful for the things I have and not the things I want. I wish your daughter luck and remember don't get caught up in all the other things for hair loss. Let is work itself out of her system and try to relax. It will grow back but hair grows very slowly and you don't see improvement right away, but it will happen. Take care.
