I saw your post to Beth and wanted to tell you that my daughter was on Accutane (40/80 mg) from Sept. to end of March '01. She started losing hair by the handfulls in the 4th month and by the time she took it for 2 1/2 more months she had lost maybe half of her hair, which was not that thick to begin with. The shedding slowed down alot about a month after she finished the Accutane, and we noticed regrowth after she had been done for 2 or 3 months. It has now been 4 and a half months since she stopped Accutane and she has 1 and 2 inch hairs sprouting all over her head. We are so relieved about that, except that the acne is back and she wants to go on Accutane again. She said she would rather be bald than have acne again, but I don't agree. Anyway, I just wanted to post about her regrowth just to let you know that it can happen. Just don't let her stress out about it. My daughter is also 17 years old, starting her senior year in high school.
