Thank you so very much for taking time to share your daughter's accutane experience with me. My daughter's ability to cope with this feeds off me. She senses my own feelings, hopes, or fears regarding this and everything positive that I can read enables me to remain positive and upbeat for her. Please keep me posted on your daughter's progress. I'm so thankful she is experiencing regrowth. Janna, my daughter, is 6 weeks post accutane and continues to shed 5-8 hundred hairs a day, and this is really taking a tow on her already fine and thin hair. When I first started reading these posts I would leave the computer fighting tears and literally nauseated because I felt I had, by allowing accutane treatment, subjected her to a lifetime of perpertual hair loss with no happy ending. That was an extremely heavy load to carry. As I'm learning to navigate this site better and read more and more testimonials over and over, I'm feeling optimistic and hopeful. Like Beth,I feel Janna was on too high a dosage for her small frame. She's 5' 3" and 110#. The 80mg she was on totalled 560mg per week and that exceeded Beth's dosage by 160 mg. What dosage was your daughter on? Seems she was on it for a long time. I agree with you regarding another round of accutane. I wouldn't do it. Has she tried Tetracycline and Clindamycin? That seems to be very effective from what I've learned. Again, I sincerrely thank you so very much for sharing your information.
