I've been "iron-definciency anemic" for almost 6 years. I'm only 19 years old. I noticed something was wrong my freshman year of high school when I started to lose a lot of hair and I ate ice all the time. Not just eating ice but obsessed. 7-10 times a day I would get crushed ice from the freezer and crush it up like snow in a blender. I've gone through 3 blenders in the past 5 years, this past year I haven't been wanting ice so much like I did w/ the blender thing. I think I became anemic from the loss of blood. My period has never been right; I would be on for a month and off for 3-5 mths. I've tried birth contol pills to help that for 3 mths straight so help regulate and control the time but it never stayed after the 3 mths. I'm still losing a lot of hair, not the average 100 hairs a day. My docters have done blood tests before and ruled out thyroid. I have dizzy spells as well as being tired a lot. I need more info on how to help from more hair falling out and I'm also having break acne break outs if that has something to do with being anemic. please respond if you have info on regarding hair loss.
