Panic attacks, hair loss, low iron

Two years ago I went off of the Pill and a few months later I lost a lot of hair. I noticed it first in the shower. I have suffered from panic attacks for several years and now this has become my main source of attacks. My problem is that I believe I have lost total perspective. When one is not focused on hair loss, when hair comes out in the shower, or on the brush, etc. they do not notice every little hair that comes out. But now I am extremely cognizant of every one. I lose 5-10 in the shower (strange, I think I should lose more), then I let my hair dry naturally overnight, the brush out in the morning is what is truly disturbing. I brush out about 20-25 at this time, then lose another 15-20 throughout the day. I count them as they come out, so no hairs ever show up in my brush. I realize that it is normal to lose 50-100 hairs a day, but it truly FEELS like I am losing much more than I did from years past. And it seems like I am able to see more scalp on my crown then before, but of course, now that I am focusing on it, it WOULD seem that way. I cannot tell if new hairs are growing in, is there an easy way to do this? The short strands I just assume are ones that have broken off.

I am currently on the Pill once again. I need it to control endometriosis, and am petrified of ever going off it. People have said that BCP cause hair loss, but this does not make much sense to me (if you otherwise have a balanced hormonal system) because the body is tricked into believing it is pregnant, and there is usually less loss during pregnancy.

I have suffered from excessive bruising, dizziness, extreme tiredness (fatigue), breathlessness and was tested last month for thyroid, hormonal, and iron levels. All normal except for my iron count, which is apparently so low, it's off the chart (the doctor indicted that I had no/little stores in my system). I have been taking 65mg elemental iron/day now for one month and the breathlessness has ceased. I'm still very tired and still I am losing the above amount of hair. I am wondering if low iron just causes more hair loss, or does it affect the rate at which it grows back? And how soon can I expect a reversal after taking iron?

I am in constant panic regarding this, and do not even know if what I am experiencing is reality (actual hair loss) or just a trigger for the panic.
