Hi Moni! First of all, 30-40 hairs a day is not very much even though it might seem like a lot. Second, if you were anemic with your pregnancy, chances are excellent that your stored iron (serum ferritin) is too low. You should get your serum ferritin tested asap. They will also quote you a HUGE range of normal but really you need to be at least 40+ to stop shedding and at about 70 to really grow hair well. Just FYI, my ferritin a month ago when diagnosed was 15. My doctor advised me that it would take about 3 months to get the shedding to slow/stop and another month after that to see lots of regrowth. He has me taking a lot of iron plus vitamin C. You may also want to be tested for other typical hair loss triggers such as thyroid and hormones. There is a lot of information on the Telogen Effluvium forum site too. But iron can be a big culprit or at least a major contributor so get it checked out. Don't let them test your hemoglobin and tell you you're fine. Ask for serum ferritin. Also, read the web site www.florisene.com. Good luck and keep posting here for support.
