Priya, just FYI, my doctor has me taking 325 mg of ferrous sulphate 3 times a day. Along with that I take 500 mg of vitamin c each time to help with absorption. I take it on an empty stomach (first thing in the morning, mid afternoon, right before bed) and do not take it within 2 hours of having any caffeine or dairy. If you are taking a multivitamin with calcium, take it 2-3 hours apart from your iron. Calcium inhibits iron absorption as does caffeine. I am basically completely off caffeine any way right now and all I have is the occaisional decaf coffee or herbal tea. Let us know what your doctor says. Be aggressive and ask for help and answers!
