I'm a 23 year old women who has been anemic since the age of 17. In january 2001 I noticed that my hair had been thinning.I found out that my level was 9, my doctor suggested that I try iron injections. I tired them for 2 months and my ferritin level shot up to 68. I have also changed my diet to include more red meat and leafy green vegetables. It has been 3 months since I stopped my iron injections. My doctor told me that all I need to take now was multivitamins, which is what I'm doing. Despite all this, my hair seems to be getting thinner (mostly in the bang and crown area). Should it have at least stopped shedding by now? I have had other tests (horomones & thyroid), which have come back normal. Am I rushing to see changes? Please give me some advice I'm getting so hopeless.
