I've been taking it for a year and I believe it is a lifelong commitment, but what would you rather have? It has helped by the way and for me took effect immediately. I did however go off of it for a month( cash problem) and noticed an increase, so my advice is to stay on it, take it like you'd take a multi., I was prescribed 100mg, this also cleared up acne which I have never experienced. Hope this helps. M
