I don't know what is causing the verticle lines on your nails. you may want to post that question on a more active forum- like the BCP forum. There are a lot of intelligent women there.

Did you go to an endocrinologist about your thyroid? Some doctors in other fields don't fully understand what a "normal" thyroid measurement really is. If you have all the symptoms I would definitely go for a second opinion. Where are you located? You could also get an ultrasound.

If I were you I would not start any meds. You lost a lot of weight and that is a hige indicator of TE. If you gain weight the hair loss should subside on its on in 3 to 6 months. I know that sounds like a long time but meds could only prolong your condition and make it worse if the wrong diagnosis is made!
