Hi there,

Well as to MY cause...who knows? I feel it was a disasterous freakish combination of events (post babies, NO iron, LOW LOW ferritin, LOW estrogen from lazy ovaries (I know this as my boobs completely shrunk "granny boobs" for over a year before the hair loss), bad diet with almost no protein/really high carbs, severe depression and anxiety (hospital type)...need I say more?). So BOOM went the hair with no regrowth for over a year. Regrowth only began after ferritin increased, a diet HIGH in protein (protein shakes), low stress (Im on AD now), rogaine and BCpills. The pill really was big in lowering the shed. Im not going to have any more kids so Im not worring about the ovaries. Ill just stay on the pill. I had great pregnancy hair so Im hoping for some of the estrogenic effects of the pill to help. I just noticed that any drug/herb that mimiced estrogen made my boobs shrink and the loss sometimes increased. So I stopped CPA and EPOil. I was OK on Marvelon but 30 mcg of estrogen was too low for me (too much bleeding mid cycle). I just needed the 50 mcg. Maybe I have less receptors or I dont absorb it well. I was looking at pictures from 1-2 years ago. I seem to be imporoving but today it was sunny and I bravely went outside with a mirror (the worst light for hair loss) and in my opinion I need more hair on top (the bangs) but I think it was worse last summer. I really think it take TIME!!! Have you thought about your pill options? Maybe you just need more estrogen? And what about rogaine? Is it an option? Take care, Emmalina
