Hi Emma, You are so kind to respond...Well, here is the scoop...the 1st time in Feb. 2003 when I was losing hair in the shower, ect. I did freak out but that was so attributable to the stress of my Grandma's death so I thought it would've been abnormal NOT to have lost hair. BUT, when I started to lose even more in May I became concerned. Yes, I was studying for the bar BUT, come on, I had 4 years if law school, a hip replacement, financial probs., ect, and never shed like that.

So, the saga began. My tests are in the normal range, but we all know what that means... anyway, I do know that my body must be sensitive to androgens.

When I was 17-20, my hormones were in flux. You see, I gained and lost 30 lbs. and my hair did shed. Phillip Kinglsey ( in New York) at the time said that I was AGA prone, but I never did anthing, esp. since rogiane use wasn't even widespread at that time. (that was 15yrs. ago.) Well, my hair grew back, but the texture had changed. I did not really care, however, b/c my hair was now curlier and "puffier". Still pretty thick.

Things hair wise were somewhat stable between the age of 22-34. I was the thinnest ever, a runner, etc. In fact, my hair prior to the Feb.2003 time (in Jan.) was the thickest I had seen it. However, I knew my hormones were a bit off even apart to the hair thing b/c my periods became VERY light for no reason and I had gained 8 lbs in one month. The only thing that I could attibute that to was the stress of my grandma's death and moving into my mom's apt. (after not having lived with her for 3 years).

So then, I started messing around with 3 weeks of rogaine (COMPLETELY OBLITERATING MY TEMPLES and overall loss in general), then started spiro. + synthroid. So, here I am...soo sick of MDs. and scared this will never end. Of course, Dr. Whiting also said early AGA via biopsy BUT what about the light period and weight gain?. One could argue that I had ëarly AGA in my late teens when Kingsley was me but then I managed to have the thickest hair!!!! I also suspect that I may have a mild form of pcos (acc. to one repro.endo.) as I also have cysts (rather big ones.)As to the weight gain, this also may have contributed to my hormonal "crisis". Today, I am 20-25 lbs. more than I should be for my height. I feel like a lab experiment gone wrong. I hope we can soon get to the bottom of this. I wish hair cloning was a reality TODAY for the masses. The guys in the multiplication forum seem to talk about it alot. Please tell me about you and you're situation. Does any of what I have mentioned ring a bell with you?

Regards, Evy
