Miniaturized Hairs

Hi, all:

For the past few weeks I've noticed that I've been shedding some "spider web-like" hairs, which I can only imagine are miniaturized. :( Most are very small/short and I usually see them when I collect the hairs from my shower strainer (they stick to the full length, healthier hairs), though I've seen a few flying around when I style my hair as well. Is anyone else experiencing this? I'm hoping that if they are miniaturized, it is not yet a permanent situation. I've been told that if I have AGA, it's in the very early stages (but one never knows). Thanks for any feedback you can offer. Sadly, I see rogaine on the horizon... :(
