Many suggest that DHT or AGA related hair loss tend to cause miniaturization of hair, however, I had a very nasty spout of TE a year ago and all the hair that was shed were like what you described.

Personally, I would not spend too much time analyzing whether the hair is miniaturized or not. Upon initial signs of hair loss, the best thing is to get your blood test and see a doctor ........then start a regimen to maintain the hair count.
