Hi, Dorinha:
Many thanks for passing along this information. I hadn't heard of these formulations and will ask my derm about them when the time comes... I agree with you in that's it's worth trying rogaine on the hairline, even though it may not be as effective there as on the crown.
I am a little concerned about the application b/c my derm said it can be messy and make the hair oily (though I've heard the 5% is much oilier than 2%). One woman (I think Atlanta Girl) suggested pouring the measured solution into a cap and applying it to the affected areas with a makeup brush. That sounds much easier than dealing with the medicine dropper!
Also, my mom (who's 63) has been using rogaine for the past 7 years and believes it has helped her keep the hair she has, which is still pretty full. Anyway, she tried 5% and started getting "whiskers." So then she decided to mix the 2% with 5%, to get 3.5%, which she's been using ever since. That could be a good option if 2% seems too weak, and 5% is too potent...
That's all for now. Hope you're having a nice weekend--
Margo
