Hi, Fade:

I actually found an article the other day, which explained that the rogaine shed is due to rogaine kicking out the hairs that are already in telogen, so theoretically, you were going to lose these over the next three months anyway. Now I'm having trouble finding that link, but I'll definitely post it if I manage to re-locate it. Anyway, maybe based off of what you were losing each day before rogaine, you can estimate roughly how much you would've lost over the next three months -- and that can explain the high numbers you're experiencing now. Eventually it will slow down/stop. I realize that that's not much of a consolation as you are shedding fistfuls, but I would take it as a positive sign that your scalp is going to be very responsive to the treatment. Hang tough!

Re: Amy of Denmark, I'm glad that you were able to find a nice piece there. I actually visited the shop with a friend several months ago (to start researching options), but didn't get to meet with Amy. At the time, I was a little freaked out at the prospect of wearing a wig, but I spoke with a very nice woman who worked there and wore a topper that was completely undetectable! I do not have a topper/wig yet, but suspect that I eventually will need one if my high shedding doesn't abate. I'll probably go back to Amy's and also will explore Kiki's in NY. If you haven't yet signed up for the MSN wig support group yet, you definitely should! They will definitely provide a lot of comfort, guidance, and support, if you decide to make the transition to a wig. Hang in there and please keep us posted on how things go.

Margo
