Rogaine and the hairline?

I have iron related hairloss as well as what I think is probably the early onset of AGA (heightened by my very loe ferritin). I am thinning all over, and specifically around my hairline and top front of my head. I have heard things that Rogaine doesnt work in this area. Has anyone has success growing hair around the front of their head after using rogaine? I really need some hope right now.
