Yes, I have been having diffuse lose for about 15-16 months. It started suddenly and heavily and I assumed I was having TE and it would stop after 3-6 months, LIKE ALL THE ARTICLE SAY. Well, that didn't happen. I don't know if I have CTE or AGA, but I do feel in my gut that after all of this time, my shedding is not going to miraculously stop on its own. My dad is bald and since I inherited his fine hair texture, I am figuring I inherited his tendency to hair loss as well. I hated the idea of Rogaine and refused to use it for months. Now, if it stops this awful shedding and regrows some of my hair, I will be ecstatic. I have had enough of losing my hair.
It sounds like you may have possibly had gradual genetic thinning and now are experiencing TE. I believe that the majority of AGA and CTE sufferers also suffer bouts of acute TE as well. It sucks that we can suffer from more than one type of hair loss, while other people suffer none.
Do you have any AGA in your family? I hear you about not being able to tolerate heavy shedding. The sides and bottom half of my head have just one thin little layer of hair keeping me from being bald. I put off Rogaine for so long because I was scared of the shedding and of my hair getting even thinner. Now I am scared to NOT use Rogaine. But this dreadful shed is pretty bad. I lost about 200 this morning and probably another 100 today. Ugh.
I will post my progress here. Let us know if you decide to start it.
