Hi, My dermatologist from mayo clinic suggested that I part my hair in the middle, put 4-5 drops down the length, part on one side by the temples, do the same, and then part the other side and do that side as well. She said it helps not be so greasy. It is packaged as 'men's' because it is a bit greasy for women, but there is no side affect if women use it. She suggested to me that I use the 5% at night when I go to bed and the 2% in the morning when I go to work if I am worried about the greasy affect. She also said make sure your scalp is completely dry before applying.

Hope that helps!
