The problem is they show these "systems" in their best light. They don't always look this good in fact 90% of the time they look really bad!! Believe me, I'm talking from EXPERIENCE - with "high quality" supposedly "state of the art" hair systems (HCM, etc.) First of all, these pics show the system hair all nice and shiny and soft and supple. That's NOT the way it normally will look!!! The system hair is not lubricated by human sebaceous and sweat glands so it gets dry really fast. Even putting conditioner on it doesn't work. It builds up but still doesn't make the hair look shiny and natural. There's a noticeable difference in the texture, look and feel between your hair and the system hair. When you first get it styled on your monthly service visit, it looks good and stays that way for about a week to 1.5 weeks tops. For the rest of the months it degrades and looks shittier and shittier. Like i said the hair is VERY DRY. Plus there are all the inherent problems of a hair system/hair piece which mainly are that the hair is not really coming out of your head, so people can SEE THAT.. From a distance or on casual observance, people don't notice but just try dating a girl without telling her, she is gonna start noticing pretty quickly because your 'hair' looks so much different than the average guy's hair! When it comes right down to it, the hair DOES NOT LOOK AS IF ITS COMING OUT OF YOUR HEAD. If you peer right down at the system from the top of the person's head, it does look natural.. It really looks like its coming from your head. BUT if you look at it face to face at eye-level it DOES NOT, mainly because of the way the hair lays and moves. A lot of men who have systems get them too thick, and there's something really weird about the hairline it looks like "HUUUHHHHH?!!? What's that???!" You can't quite put your finger on it but you "know" something is really wrong. Also,the hair doesn't really bob up and down when you run! It just lies flat. Who knows why! Real hair is supple and moves independently of the head. System hair lays flat and stays together like a single object. But there are many things about modern systems that people dont realize. For one, with the new kind YOU DON'T FEEL IT ON YOUR HEAD!! Second, you can get one where there's absolutely zero maintenance for you (apart from shampooing and combing it) between monthly visits. One big problem however is that, since the hair is very, very dry (due to lack of scalp oil glands connected to real hair follicles) it tangles incredibly immediately after you shampoo it! This is a big problem. They give you all these "special" conditioners, gels, and sprays to supposedly stop the tangling and make the hair less dry, but none of them work even a bit. The hair remains as dry as it was before you put that gunk into it, and still tangles. As far as the COLOR of these systems, thats also a big problem. The longer you have the system, the more the natural color will fade. My medium-brown often fades and gets a strange faintly yellow-green highlight on top of the brown. You can only see it in certain lights, but it looks unnatural. The problem is when someone sees it they cant really put their finger on it and say, "THAT GUY'S WEARING A HAIR PIECE!!!" They just know somethings wrong with his hair. Its kind of a subliminal thing. And, a girl can run her fingers through your hair but she has to be VERY, VERY careful at the hairline. Plus, why would she even want to!???
