Loren Pickart is the guy who invented folligen and tricomin. His patents on folligen involve the complexation of a mixture of a protein digest and salts of zinc, tin or indium. (I hope that was pasted correctly). I believe Dr.Proctor (inventor of NANO and Proxiphen) has said pretty much the same thing himself but I can't find the original link.

Basically, group 2 transition metals such as zinc and tin are so-called because they have can form ions with a charge of 2+. They can also form 4+ ions, if memory serves, hence the name "transition" metals. Metals from this group share fairly similar chemical properties which explains their similar usefulness for hairloss.
