Hair growth in vitro

After reading the info in the PDF referred to by Trey, I found that one of the abstracts is interesting: Hair growth in vitro According to my understanding, they are saying that so far they have been unable to produce the full hair cycle of in vitro human hair follicle cultures. It also says that they can get the most results from vibrissa - which I looked up the definition and apparently means whiskers. Does anyone have any other knowledge of this process, and how it would relate to HM? Am I wrong in thinking that successful HM would require the ability to reproduce the full hair follicle cycle in vitro?
