I just talked to a senior representative from GW and she told me dutasteride was submitted to fda in dec.2000. I asked her if the approval process was limited to a year and she said no. the fda has up to a year to request further information related to phase 3 trials. but so far they havent requested any further info. she said there is no indication, that GW plans to pull the plug on the drug, but she also said, she has known them to get fda approval and decide against marketing a drug. I asked if these reasonswere financially motivated, which is a prtty ridiculous question for a pharmaceutical giant, but she said they try to estimate the future value of the drug and the potential future market for it and then make a decision. I asked her if its very common for a company to carry out costly phase 3 trials and then pull the plug and she said, no but it has happened. she says theres no reason to believe that the drug wont be out within the next 4 months to a year. she said 18 months from the time of submission to fda is usually the maximum time. so everybody else who wants to call, the numbers, 1 888 825 5249. please, everybody call and post your findings. id like to gather a general concensus from20or 30 different callers. the more I hear about this drug, the more it seems its a great solution. it may only grow another half of what finasteride grows, but I have a feeling that theres more to it judging by the reports ive heard. maybe it has the capacity to bring severely and moderately shrunken hairs back to full size. where finasteride cant do this because it leaves abunch of circulating dht. I think theres a whole lot more to overall results than actual hair count. ive been using finasteride for 4 years and its helped me a lot but I still have lots of hairs that are very thin or wont grow more than an inch long. see if these hair became full thickness and length I would have a great deal more hair visually, but it would have nothing to do with hair count because the hairs already there. I think haircount can be deceiving. anyway, everyone please call. thanks.
