Hi guys, All of us have been guilty at one time or another of seeing things as we wish them to be, instead of how they really are. This is part of being human. Lately, there has been absolute celebration, since Pavlo's post. Let me remind you that most of the post was Pavlo's interpretation of Mr. Fleskins, which may or may not be correct.
I am not convinced of the reality of dermal fusion. There have been tons of fishy things, that could fill a novel. Things such as the Santa Monica address, the 500,000 emails, the weird pricing changes, etc., etc. However I am gonna just focus on the 3 things in my mind that have left me with the greatest concern.
First and foremost in my mind is the statement about waiting to see if some topical solution was gonna make it to market first, thereby supplanting the dermal fusion procedure. Now to those of us, such as myself, who knows that the only real solution is gonna be one of tissue engineering, this statement is just plain ludicrous.
I have a brand new HM-type of procedure that completely restores baldness, and I am gonna be concerned with some new hairloss product taking away my business !! PLEASE !!!!! There are many reasons for this statement if DF is not real, such as trying to support this product. The only possible reason for this statement that I can think of, if dermal fusion is real, is that he wants to intentionally confuse the issue.
The second issue that leaves me with a terrible gut feeling is the complete issue of INFILTRATOR with regards to all of his dermal fusion posts.
The third issue is the bringing up of the site days after David announces Gho's answers.
I have learned when things do not appear kosher, they generally are not.
Now, a comment was made about how this could be a scam when Livingston tells us that he will not be accepting anything until the grand opening. Since I was the first person to mention the $500 scam, I thought I would like to give you some food for thought.
First of all, I never said I thought this was the case, only that it was a POSSIBILITY. But the letter does absolutely nothing to change my feelings. I mean what does that actually say ? That he is not gonna do business until he starts to do business.
There is gonna be a huge advertising campaign before the grand opening, which will bring a furor of people, consolidating them into a much smaller timeframe. So they could very possibly bring in a lot more people in a shorter time frame. So the letter does nothing, but make it more feasible.
However, I originally made the statement before I was aware of the pricing - $55,000+ per head. And you guys can't figure out how this could be a scam ????? Look at how long United Micro Systems lasted, and they were being sued by everyone, including the state !!
Now, let's assume that DF is real, and how does that affect Gho, and perhaps other versions of hair multiplication.
First of all, not a whole heck of a lot of people can afford $55,000+ for a hair job. This procedure is marketed for the people who are either so desperate that they will pay anything, or for those people for whom money is no real object. And he is not gonna worry about what Gho comes out with in 5 years. By that time, he will have made hundreds of millions - that should be no small consolation for being beat out by a more reasonably costing procedure !!!!!
I expect Gho's procedure to be under 10 grand, and possibly go down to 3-5 grand, when all is said and done. I don't think he is concerned, simply because of the price differential.
Dermal Fusion, in the way the procedure has been described, needs anesthesia, and a biopsy. This has an inherent medical/surgical skill in its overhead - no getting around that. Dr. Gho's does not. In otherwards, a supplier, giving the option of doing either procedure for a patient, would have the ability to lower his price with a Gho-like procedure, where he would not for a DF procedure, simply because there is more overhead involved in DF.
So I think Gho would just realize that the only people he is gonna miss out on are the few who are willing to spend outrageous bucks, but not the huge majority of people.
Now with regards to a genetic solution, I am not sure that will come out for a long, long time.
Some of you do not realize how big of a business HM will turn out to be. Most guys lose hair over a 20-year period or so. HM is not just about the current crop of people who have serious balding problems. It is about everyone behind them, who will need it as well.
I spend $10 for a haircut a few times a year. It will be just as common to go for your annual HM treatment for I think a couple hundred dollars. People won't wait for any noticeable signs of baldness. Each year they will have some work done, so it never looks like they are losing any hair. So a large percentage of the population will be paying some for this product for 10, 20, 30 years, or so.
This is why I believe we will eventually have the choice to do it at a place of cosmetology or such - because it will be absolutely a commonplace procedure, such as getting a haircut - we will all take advantage of it, since just about everyone loses some hair throughout their lifetime.
And for this very reason, I am not sure about the future of a genetic solution. Simply because HM will one day be the old solution, making lots of money for lots of people, who do not want a one-time procedure for people. The size of the eventual HM-business will make today's HT business miniscule in comparison. More than likely, the HM people will control all the genetic research, and what is allowed and what is not.
At one point, a solution is considered the one that the status quo is trying to keep out, and later, that very same solution will be what it is trying hard to keep. This is the nature of all improvements of technology, whether we are talking vcrs/dvds, horse and carriage/car, or hairloss procedures.
