Since you are a medical student, I have no doubts as to your bias. Fixing teeth still requires quite a bit of skill. Giving injections does not require that much skill.
I am pretty sure you would be insulted if I were to think that you are becoming a doctor, so that you can acquire the great skill of being able to do what nurses have already been doing for quite some time.
But perhaps I believe more in your skill than you do. Do you think this is possible ? I rather think that perhaps someone goes to medical school, because he needs to know where the organs are, blood vessels are, and all the tons of complexitities that are within the body cavity, that really require a lot of knowledge. And perhaps I think that doctors are for making all the delicate incisions, cuts, etc., that can be the difference of life or death to the patient on the operating table.
I guess I was wrong. There skill is needed to make pinprick injections on the scalp, instead of open heart surgery.
I will tell you one thing. If this procedure gets commonplace enough that it is cheap enough, every single one of you doctors will be saying the same thing I am - but people will think it is a god-sent message from the medical community, instead of some rhetoric by just some whacky-tobacky. But the truth will be the same. The medical profession will think it is below them to give simple injections, when they would otherwise be needed to do open-heart surgeries. And all you guys will chant in with your agreement, while old Bill just SMILES.
