I think that the angle would matter around the hairline at the front. It seems to me that hair naturally grows forward in that area. Maybe for me and others with wavy to curly hair it wouldn't matter too much.
I read that Technology Review article that Fred mentioned, and that woman researcher had wrote a printer driver for an ink-jet that prints tissue cells onto a bio-friendly "scaffolding" layer after layer to produce a 3-D living tissue for human implants. They did it successfully for use in a dog as a urinary bladder, and hope to move on to more complex organs like a heart. I imagine that the human scalp would also have more complex cells(follicles) than a bladder. Some hotshot with will write an algorithm for it I'm sure. I think maybe that researcher should have some of the best computer technology people assisting her right now. It seems that important.
