Jean, I think I was looking for both, in a way. Most of us need to watch what we eat, for fear of putting on weight. I was searching for a regimen, whereby I could eat until I felt full, and at the same time, not put on weight. I have never had an addiction to eating, but was looking to have my body's signals of fullness be the same that would keep me lean.

Most doctors know very little about nutrition, so unless you were going to an orthomolecular doctor, their comments would be of little value.

The essential fats, though, will help keep you lean, as they are necessary for overall fat metabolism.

I have often wished that nutritionists would develop the word "lipid", when referring to fats in the diet. The word fat is always gonna have a negative connotation with people.

You wouldn't believe what I have to overcome when I tell an overweight person he needs to eat some "fat". No matter how nutritious I tell him that they are, the moment he hears the word "fat" - instant hatred - LOL.
