The protein that we intake, is broken down into its constituent amino acids.

95% of the chemicals that our bodies make are combinations of amino acids. Enzymes, hormones, and others, are all amino acid combinations.

So protein is very important, in its correct amount. They, along with the essential fats, are used mostly for building, while in general, carbs are used for energy with which to sustain the body's building processes, as well as our want to move around and enjoy one's self.
