Milk is better left alone

I haven't read any of the posts in the threads above about herbs, nutrition, etc. because I've been very busy and because I've stated my points on this time and time again.

Milk and all dairy products have been linked to an increase in cancer. Vegans consistently have lower rates of cancer and with all that is going on in the milk industry (Read the Mad Cowboy, by a former Dairy Farmer and lots of other books on this subject, probably available at Amazon.com), it's getting worse not better.

The former head of the pediatric dept at Johns Hopkins Hospital wrote a book showing that it is a total myth that children need to drink cow milk. The properties in cow milk are different than in the mother's milk. I can't remember his name, but I've got his book.

And Jean, you mentioned the need for calcium. You are correct, especially for women, but a recent Harvard study proved what others had been finding out for years -- that increased milk intake causes calcium loss. Milk contains properties that make it HARDER for your body to actually absorb the calcium that's in the milk. Harvard found that women who were vegan in their tests had lower rates of osteoporosis than those who drank plenty of milk.

Yes, this is quite controversial, but when you really take the time to look at the evidence you'll see that dairy products are better left off. The dairy industry, way back in the early 1900's agreed to pay for school books, etc. in public schools if the schools would in turn put up posters of the goodness of milk. They did and to this day everyone believes the myth that if they don't drink milk they'll lose bone mass. Not true. The opposite is true, in fact.

If anyone cares to debate me on this, I don't have time, but if you study this you'll see that there is so much evidence to support this that you'll be convinced. The son of one of the Baskin Robbins founders (Robbins) was in line to take over his father's business, but when he studied the dairy/ice cream industry he gave it all up and now he tours, giving seminars about the problems with meat and dairy. His book is available at amazon.com too and it's called "Diet for a new America" and also "Diet for a new world."

I could go on and on. I've attended and even helped put on lots of seminars on this subject and my bookcase is loaded with studies and references to this.

I've been vegan for years now and am in great shape. I'll be off the computer for a while so if anyone asks about this be patient for a response.

Also, cancer is almost totally curable with the right diet and other elements.
