Is anyone else completely disgusted with the amount of time and energy that is wasted on disproving scams and hoaxes?

Step number 1: Some delusional jackass creates a hoax. (Perhaps his name is Dr. Sanhouri. Perhaps his name is Ryan Livingston. His name doesn't matter. What does matter is this process that keeps going on, over and over and over, like the movie "Groundhog Day".)

Step number 2: Extremely gullible people start believing that the new hoax is "a cure". There is zero proof, and there are obvious signs of it being a scam - but that doesn't matter. What matters is someone with zero credibility says they can cure baldness!

Step number 3: Hundreds of excited posts start appearing at hair loss web sites, excited and raving wildly about the hoax, screaming things like "I have $35,000 to spend on this!" and "This is the CURE!!!"

Step number 4: MONTHS are wasted showing these gullible people that this entire thing is fake. MONTHS that could be spent doing something positive and productive, instead of doing something with no net effect on a cure (i.e. disproving a scam brings us no closer to a cure).

I'm SICK and TIRED of this complete horse sh*t.

How many years of our lives are going to be wasted on disproving hoaxes to gullible people? How many decades are going to spent on this sh*t?

I can think of no other disease where the majority of the sufferers have to wade through thousands of scam cures. I can think of no other disease where new scams and hoaxes pop up daily.

It's truly disgusting.
