Hi guys, Morgan - your statement was so true, that I hate to even reread it. We are basically playing God, defining what is life.

Most pro-abortion people, which it seems as if in the US anyways, is more than pro-life, mirror society in one big way - an inability to be responsible for one's own action. We want to have sex whenever we want, but we are not willing to take on the responsibility of not only giving birth to the child, but rearing it so that it has a chance to do well in life.

So what is our answer. We rationalize that it is not a human being - therefore we do not feel guilty about killing it.

Well I have yet to see an embryo from a human egg/sperm turn into anything but another human being. So we now rationalize that it is only human after so long.

We now really build a can of worms. First of all, this would mean that all fetuses age at the exact same rate, if we can attach some date to it. And the biggest worm of all is that there is an exact instant that this fetus becomes a human being, which also means that the instant before that instant, it was not a human being. It is just ludicrous.

Ask any biologist. Life starts when the egg and sperm join together, and start the biological processes.

I happen to be a devout, practicing Christian. But I am good friends with an agnostic and he gets mad when it is suggested that abortion is a religious issue. His reply is "don't tell me that only people who claim to be religious, know right from wrong". He then goes on and on about how these so-called religious people have killed down through the ages.

My point being of course is that the view that life is sacred, and starts from conception, is held by biolgists, agnostics - it is not about people pushing their religious views on others.

I have learned much from this older friend of mine. In the issue of abortion, I can not phrase it any better than what he did - "do not punish the child for the sins of the parents". This statement is concise, and deep.
