Not only did I get it, I said the same thing a few days ago. To say it is not a life, and then it eventually is, 100% dictates that at some exact instant, it became a life, where the instant before it was not a human life. And Morgan re-iterated this belief when he said something to the effect that it is a life when we want it to be, and it is not a life when it is inconvenient for us. We stand on very firm ground on this point, whereas our foes are more on quicksand. I would love to take this to court with anyone, simply because the truth and facts are way on my side. To take any stance other than the one that it is created at fertilization requires one to play God and determine for themselves at which instant this embryo is considered a human. The only reason this is even an argument in our society is that people do not want to take responsibility for their sexual actions, and they do not want to bear any guilt. So instead of admitting they are murdering an unborn human being, they rather conveniently espouse the theory that it is not yet human, and to make matters worse, they are able to change their minds about that as time goes on.

I have had many women libber friends in the past, who were all for women having control of their own bodies. Does this ever change in a huge way ONCE THEY HAVE BABIES OF THEIR OWN. For those who actually had abortions, they have a lifetime of guilt. For others, they usually just feel ashamed that they were so unbelievably self-centered. For people such as myself, who have pets that they consider their babies, animals take on a whole different meaning. I see my cats dream, scheme, plot, sneeze, cry for attention, all sorts of human-like behavior. To think that we have some sort of right to take animals lives is abhorrent to me.

This is what I was trying to tell Priestly. There are some things that are experiential in nature. It is one thing to debate back and forth about the morality of taking a life; it is quite another to be at the mercy of someone else, knowing that you have absolutely no control over the situation, which would be the situation if we were ever visited by aliens. They would have powers probably beyond our comprehension, so it would not be a matter of fighting them. We would be at their mercy. Sort of like that old saying their is no such thing as an atheist in a foxhole. When it comes right down to it, I think that most everyone believes in God. I know Einstein did. In fact he once said something to the effect of "I just want to know the mind of God. Do not bother me with the details".
