Before you do HT, examine with wide and cold eyes the entire spectrum of possibility. Examine the worst case scenario which may include scarring and/or "shock fall out." (Transplanted hair and/or hair near to new transplants falls out due to the trauma of surgery. And HT is a form of surgery.)

With shock fall out, you may in fact end up with less hair than you started, if the hair in the nearby area is susceptible to this. A net loss may occur. Not desirable.

Depending on the doc, you may end up with visible scars as well. This is the risk, less hair than before and scars for your trouble. Not to mention the cost.

Can you assume you will not be a candidate for "shock fall out"?

I don['t think you an assume that. Indeed, I am willing to bet that the legal release form of the HT doc you go to will underline the fact that it is unpredictable. I also suggest you look at that release form closely, and since this is an expensive procedure, show it to a lawyer.

If after examining all the angles, good, bad, future treatments (Do some research on this too, BTW.) ...weighing carefully the risk/reward ratio, and after that you are convinced that HT is for you, then bon voyage. I salute your exercising of free will responsibly. And good luck.

Fred
