Stem cells -  you misunderstood. repost from 37

I think my point about creating a line of embryonic stem cells with a virtually unnlimited supply and then implanting some into a womb and creating a baby was misunderstood.

If you create a line of stem cells from a fertilized embryo, they all have the same DNA. You just take them before they begin to differentiate and separate them and keep separating them before they can ever differentiate. So, the child whose destiny (supposedly) was set when the embryo was fertilized and the DNA was created is never born. However, if you implant some of these stem cells into a woman's womb and allow them to grow into a child, then the DNA has fulfilled it's destiny and become a human. It was only ever really supposed to become ONE human anyway. Therefore, no "bad" is ever done as Bill says. A child was supposed to be born, a child was born, PLUS we have all these extra stem cells.

You can then think of it as this child donating some of his extra cells to help humanity. What do you think?
