I'm looking back at the Apr/May interview answers, and Gho was pretty vague about exactly where he is with the technique. He did say "it's an uphill battle", and that HM is not a static techngy and will always have room fro improvement and mentioning there'd be perhaps 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation HM as it was improved upon. To me that means he is pokered as to how to improve HM himself and maybe is looking at outside help for fresh ideas. He did say that HM is not all he's focused on.

And he said then that he didn't want or need outside funding. I wonder if news of W Unger receiving financial backking was what made him change his mind about that issue now.
