It certainly stains your scalp, but it will be washed off. Even procyanidin B made from apple seed often stains scalp after long run application. Original Mohkatsurin looks transparent, but the instruction says "Caution: it may stain your scalp redish".

If you stop the application, then the redish color will naturally disappear after a few times washing.
