Surfer, This is exactly what I have been saying. Irregardless of what profession we are speaking about, I want the best people to do the job. This just is not the case so often, that things need to change.

For example, counselors very often are better than psychiatrists. Working with people, irregardless of whether they are rational, or irrational, requires the day-to-day experience of working with them.

My knowledge of the human equation, and the amount of time I have spent talking to people about their problems, and my compassion for them makes me one of the best people you could find. One of my best acquaintances, who has passed the boards, tells me the same thing - he wishes he had a 100 of me for his counselors. However, that is only true in my case, for rational behavior. I know nothing about those who are no longer rational, and therefore would be somewhat inept about caring for them. See, I have never WORKED WITH IRRATIONAL PEOPLE, even though at times they may act that way - LOL !!!

Let's just allow HM to roll out, without rendering any decisions on who has exclusive rights to it. Let's not allow plaques on the wall and certificates on the desk to make those rulings. Let's make each and every provider prove his/her effectiveness by actually demonstrating to us their ability to give HM, not on anything else. Let's require WHATEVER MEDICAL ATTENTION is deemed necessary, in order to ensure the safety of the public, not the pocketbooks of the medical community.

It is funny. I always seem to have the best interest of only the people. I wonder why that is - LOL.
