Sorry for the delay in my progress report. What I did was read a lot more about pantothenic acid, and how high dosages (like those recommended) almost invariably lead to a significant increase in cortisol production by the adrenal glands. While higher levels of cortisol can't kill you and aren't considered "toxic" unless they get VERY high, increased cortisol almost invariably leads to certain side-effects which I would consider highly undesireable, including: loss of muscle tone throughout the body; an increase in abdominal fat accumulation, especially in males; loss of libido, etc. Also, high levels of cortisol over long periods have been associated with premature decline of mental faculties including memory. I'm only 36, but in my business I can't afford to start losing my memory now, in addition to my hair!

So, I gave up the pantothenic acid experiment after 4 days!

I did notice a slight decrease in scalp oiliness, however -- but maybe it was my imagination.

On the other hand, I don't suffer from acne, so I can't report on that part of it.
