Pants, from everything I have read, the side-effects are progressive and fairly likely. By "progressive" I mean that when they first show up, they're slight, but they may get more pronounced over time.

What I would strongly recommend is that you visit a doctor (if you can see an endocrinologist, that would be good), and get a read on your "baseline" blood cortisol level.

You don't HAVE to tell the doctor you're taking B5. If you did, he might tell you it's too much, but I haven't seen anything that indicates such doses are considered "toxic". You might just want to have several hormones assessed including thyroid hormone, parathyroid, testosterone and cortisol. If you don't want to discuss the B5 with the doctor (some docs are obstinately opposed to vitamin "mega-dosing"), just tell him you're concerned about hormone levels because you THINK there may have been some hormonal abnormalities in your family background, or something.

However, tracking your cortisol might give you an indication as to the degree which the B5 may be elevating your cortisol. Do a little research and find out what a normal blood cortisol level is. Maybe three to six months after starting the B5, go back and have your blood cortisol tested again. If it's significantly elevated over "normal" or "baseline" levels, and you're experiencing ANY of the applicable side-effects, you MAY want to stop the B5 or decrease your daily dose.

I don't know how easy it is to get these tests through your NHS. If it can't be done through NHS, there may be private clinics you can visit.
